As a dutch speaking user, I can access the application in nl locale and select "Nederlands" as my language
Context:
The application was translated for dutch by Vistaus on our Codeberg's Weblate instance and it is now possible to match translation keys with dutch translation using the file nl.json under the locales folder.
The following specificities have been considered for "nl" locale, we assume they support most dutch speakers currently using Caroster as they are located in the Netherlands.
- First day of the week is Monday
- Hours are displayed using a 24hours clock
- Dates respect the dd/mm/yyyy format
- The unit for distances is the kilometer
This might not be the case for other dutch speakers in the future but I believe we set a good base with this story that can later evolves to a more widely accessible use of the dutch language and as a testing ground for the implementation of new languages in Caroster.
I purposely don't mention the translation - or not - of the other components supporting Caroster service such as caroster.io, terms of use and privacy policy as they are not a part of the open source project and I believe they should be discussed on another level.
Expected outcomes:
- The web app and the emails more accessible for dutch speakers being invited to participate in Caroster events.
- We prove the web app and emails are localizable and open for translation contributions
Tasks:
Validation:
- Create an account and set "Nederlands" as my language
- See that the app is fully translated in ducth
- See that I can pick and see all the dates under dd/mm/yyy format
- See that date pickers start on Monday
- See that I can pick and see hours in 24hours clock format
- See that the distances are displayed in km
- See that the notification emails are translated in dutch
- Repeat the validation steps without any account in private navigation, pick "Nederlands" as the language
Migration:
- Add links to english version of terms and privacy notice in Strapi admin
- Add Caroster+ locale in Strapi admin
